The 2005 International Convention of the Christ Apostolic Church WOSEM was held from August 16 – 21, 2005 in Washington, DC. It was an unprecedented gathering of WOSEMITES worldwide. Among the churches represented were CAC WOSEM churches in Ontario, Canada, London, UK., Jamaica, New York, Washington, DC., Chicago, IL., Atlanta, GA., Los Angeles, CA., Baltimore, MD, Houston, TX, Nashville, TN., Colton, CA., Oklahoma, OK., Philadelphia, PA., Norfolk, VA., Brooklyn, NY., Bronx, NY., Providence, RI., Houston 2, TX., Lanham, MD., Valley, CA., Long Beach, CA., Bridgeport, CT., Shamburgh, IL, Far Rockaway, NY. to name but few. Many non-WOSEMITES and friends of the ministry came from all walks of life to receive the bread of life. Apostle (Dr.) T.O. Obadare, the founding President of the organization, and his entourage came from Nigeria to attend the Convention. The Apostle promised to take the news of the success of the Convention to Nigeria. The Convention program was packed with soul lifting and life building seminars, lectures, sermons, talent shows and praise by WOSEM Mass Choir comprising of the best from all CAC WOSEM churches. The main theme of the Convention was “End Time Harvest.” The speakers did not mince words in promoting the soul-winning vision of the founding President, Apostle (Dr.) T.O. Obadare. Among the speakers were Dr (Mrs.) Bankole, Pastor Darrell Gooding, Dr. Jones, Dr. Bankole, Pastor Adeagbo, DS, Dr. Paul Obadare, G.O., Evang. Joseph Famuyide, Dr. (Mrs.) Dairo, etc. The summary of some of the seminars are provided below; Seminar: Peculiar Conflicts: My Family, Career, and My Service in the House of God. Dr. (Mrs) Bankole. Text: Eph. 4:29. Dr. Bankole said we are all under construction. She encouraged Christians not to enjoy conflict, or try to avenge themselves. When you avenge yourself, you are asking God to hands off your situation. You must allow Jesus to take absolute control. Conflict will come when one spouse tries to change the other. You must allow God in your home by submitting to God. She encouraged wives to submit to their husbands in obedience to God. If you cannot submit to your husband you cannot submit to God. Eph 5:21. Service in the house of God is very important and it’s a must for all believers because God command it. Reading the word of God gives Christian rest. Dr. Bankole advised Christians to read Bible often and also to study and memorize the word. “Don’t be too busy not to read the Bible.” She “Eternity is what is called now” Dr. Bankole. She said God has no dead end, but free ways and if you trust Him He will make free ways for you. Conflicts will be settled if you can allow God in your affair.
Speaker: Dr. Jones: Harvesting Text: Deut. 1 6-7 Dr. Jones had three suggestions for the Convention attendees, he said: 1. See it by faith. 2. Say it by faith 3. Do it by faith. Dr. Jones told the people that living a vicious cycle and expecting different result is the definition of insanity. He encouraged attendees to approach things of the Kingdom differently after the Convention. They must do what they have been taught about soul winning. He said the Israelites walked around the wilderness for 40 years, don’t be like them. He went further to warn the delegates that the only limit you have is the limit you put on yourself. Phil 4:13. He said to the people that they have to turn from their usual ways to get a different result and they have to be focus to be able to achieve and attain the goal. Dr. Jones that people must know where they are before they can get somewhere. He asked the people “Do you really know who you are? Jesus knew who He was. Matt 4: 1-10. Dr. Jones said “when God make a promise He will do what he said He will do, You got to move with the cloud of glory, you cannot stand still. God is a progressive God, He is always moving. Dr. Jones told the Wosemites to stand up from the place where they are, and they will be led by the spirit. He said Wosemites got to understand that God has already set them up over the nations. He prophesied that God will build international churches- average of 100,000 people in attendance for CAC WOSEM, when the sport, and entertainment world crumbles.
Speaker: Pastor Adeagbo: Commitment to an End Time Harvest. Text: Mark 16: 16-20. Pastor Adeagbo advised the people that they need to win soul for God and it is a great commission. They need to surrender all for the cause of the end time harvest. The reason why this is important is because it is the eagerness of God to all nations. God want all men to come to repentance and be saved. The essence of His death on the cross is for the salvation of mankind. The Bible records it that the harvest is ripe but God is looking for the harvester. Are you going to surrender yourself as one of the harvester God is looking for?
Speaker: Dr. Paul Obadare- General Overseer, CAC WOSEM Titled: Eagerness of God. Text: Matt 9. Dr. Paul told the Wosemites that they need to have their eyes opened then they can tell others of God’s miracle which is one of the weapons for soul winning. He said if the gospel the people preach does not bring about change in other people’s life then the gospel is meaningless. Wosemites need to do what Jesus did. You need to be distinct in the message you preach, let people testify of God’s goodness in you. He said Jesus is in need of laborers and you have to be Jesus’ assistant. Dr. Paul Obadare, stated that CAC WOSEM stand for and should be known for: 1. Eagerness of God: Soul winning 2. Prayer- Jesus prayed from the beginning to the end of His ministry 3. The word of God 4. Righteousness of God- He was emphatic in stating that “we will not compromise sin; don’t be afraid of the people that leave.” Righteousness exalts the nation, but sin is a reproach. Righteousness means purity and godliness.
The Convention did not end without testimonies. Many people testified to what God did through the ministry of Apostle (Dr.) T.O. Obadare. Among the testimonies given at the Convention were: 1. God nullified the effect of charm plated in the belly of a goat presented as part of dowry gift during the wedding ceremony of one of the members. The goat presented at the wedding engagement was slaughtered after the ceremony, but surprisingly a charm was found in the belly of the goat wrapped in plastic bag. It had no effect on the new couple. Glory be to God. 2. A sister traveled to Nigeria for a building project, she escaped being killed by armed robbers on two occasions through the power of prayers and guidance of God. Praise God. 3. God provided money miraculously for a PHD program for the daughter of one of the members. Shout Halleluyah. 4. The Apostle (Dr.) T.O. Obadare was sick early in the month of August, but through the prayer of the saints all over the world, God restored His servant speedily. Glory be to God. 5. God helped one of the sisters to set up fellowship where the homosexual flourished. The message of our Lord Jesus Christ is taking root in the Campus. The President & Founder of CAC WOSEM, worldwide, Apostle (Dr.) T.O. Obadare was elated in his thanks to God for the progress of the ministry all over the world particularly the United States. He prayed for all attendees and bless them to close the Convention.
