The Church
is simply the assembly of the “called out” one (Acts 2:47). Jesus
Christ is the head of the church (Col. 1:18-19). Christians make up the
membership of the church—called the body of Christ. Those who came
together, obeying Christ command to tarry experience great power on the
day of Pentecost (Acts 2: 2, 41).
Membership
of Christ Apostolic Church WOSEM is open to people (men, women, young
and old) of all nationalities as soon as they confess and accept the
LORD JESUS CHRIST as their personal savior as prescribed in Romans
10:9. Admission to church membership is free.
Every
born again Christian who claims membership is obligated to attend
church regularly and actively participate in using his/her talents to
the edification of the body of Christ (Hebrew 10:23-25, Genesis 14:20, 28:22, I Corinthians 29:14; I Corinthians 16:12; Hebrews 7:8-9, 11).
This is because:
1. Jesus went to church; therefore, as His followers,
we are obligated to do as He did (Luke 4:6). Remember, the Bible
says we should not forsake the assembly of one another (Hebrew 10:25).
2. As members of Christ; we are members of Christ’s body, the church (1 Corinthians 12:1-27).
3. We love the Lord. The Bible says, “if you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14:15).
a) Church members must be willing to obey the rules and guidelines of the church and her leadership (Hebrews 13:17);
b) Keep the confidentiality of the church (Matthew 7:6);
c)
Give respect to the sanctuary; show a heart of thanksgiving and worship
God in Holiness of character (Psalms 118:27-28; Romans 12:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:17);
d)
Believe in two main ordinances of the church commissioned by Christ
(Holy Communion and water baptism) (II John 1:9; Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:24);
e) Be ready to work together in unity with other members of the church (Hebrews 10:24, 1 Corinthians 12:25-26; 1 Timothy 2:1; Galatians 6:2).
In case there is any confusion abut the Sabbath day, here is an explanation:
In Greek, Sabbath is called Sabbaton.
In Hebrew, Sabbath is called Sabbath.
In both languages it means—to cease, to rest, etc.
Sabbath
observation was instituted at creation (Gen. 1:1-3). Here, God hallows
the seventh (7th) day after six (6) days of labor.
God commands us to keep the Sabbath day holy. Ex. 20:8 & Lev. 23:3 tells us that the Leviticans kept it.
Jesus also observed the Sabbath (Luke. 4:16).
The
early Christians, most of whom were Jews, kept the seventh day as a
Sabbath, but since the resurrection of Jesus was so crucial to their
faith, they began very early also to meet for worshiping on the first
day of the week (Acts 2:1) and designated it as the Lord’s Day. Paul
directed the Corinthian Christians to bring their weekly offerings to
the charities of the church on the first day of the week (1 Cor.
16:1-2).
As
the split between the Jews and Christians widened, the Christians came
gradually to meet for worship only on the Lord’s Day and gave up the
observation of the seventh day.
The Church is called the following:

All
that is required to become a member of Christ Apostolic Church of
America is to join us in our services, hear the word of God, confess
Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and be willing to conform to the
bible-based doctrines of the church. We shall then continue to
grow together in fellowship and in the teachings of Christ until He
comes back to take us to heaven.
"That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with
the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith,
Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no
difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is
rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:9-13 KJV
